Every morning Cerulean left to go to Mags house and work on the dual tasks of tracking down Eve and finding Rebecca. He returned late in the evenings to tuck in Ochre and wish River a good night.
"Ray, when is Becks coming home?"
"I don't know River. Lean is looking for her."
"Do you think dad'll find her?" Ochre asked.
"He will. I believe he will find her." Rachael heard a knock on the door. "But you two don't worry about it today. There's Rhidian to walk you two to school, grab your things."
Rachael met Rhidian at the door.
"How's it going, Rhidian. Is there any progress on finding Becks?"
"Lean didn't tell you?"
"I was asleep before he returned last night and he was gone when I woke up this morning."
"They made some progress yesterday. It turns out that a couple of the boys she was hanging out with went missing around the same time too. Their families said that the boys were in a band together with Becks as their singer. One of the families had a note saying that the group left to try to hit it big in one of the cities."
Rachael grabbed Rhidian's arm, "do you know where she is?"
"Not yet Ray. Lean's looking into it. I'm sure he'll call when he has more information."
Ochre and River arrived at the door and Rachael let the subject drop. She didn't want them to get their hopes up too soon.
"Okay kiddos let's go," Rhidian said.
"Bye Ray," "Bye mom," they said as they left.
"Bye," Rachael waved.
"Rachael are you in here?"
"In here, Grey," Rachael called from the sitting chair where she was editing her newest manuscript.
"They found her," Grey said.
"Which her," Rachael asked leaning forward in her chair.
"Rebecca," Grey said, "Lean called and asked me to drive you over to Magenta's house."
"Help me up," Rachael said holding out her hand.
Grey took her hand and helped her up from the chair. He lead the way out of the house and over to the car sitting in front. He opened the passenger door for her and walked around to the driver's side. He pulled out into traffic.
"When did Lean call you," Rachael asked.
"Not too long ago," Grey said checking over his shoulder for cars before turning onto the freeway.
Rachael turned to read the sign they passed. "Grey, this is the wrong way," she said.
"Ow," she said when she felt a prick at the back of her neck.
She swiped a hand over the injured area and pulled a small injection syringe. "What is this," she asked Grey.
"Sorry. It's nothing personal but you've ticked off my sister."
Rachael blinked and shook her head as her vision started to blur, "what? What does your sister have to do with anything?"
Rachael started to lose consciousness as he responded.
"Everything."
