Chapter 1.30: Rescued

     "Stop right there Eve."

Rachael stared in shock at the speaker.

     "Mags," she gasped.

"Hey Ray.  We came to rescue you," she waved her free hand at Rachael.  The other hand held a gun trained on the henchman who stood next to the now closed door with his hands up.

"Now don't try to take all the glory, sis," Viridian said.

Rachael turned in Eve's grip to look at Viridian where he stood blocking the only other escape route from the room.

"You're surrounded Eve.  Let Rachael go and you'll live," Viridian said raising his own weapon.

Rachael gasped when Eve tightened her grip on her arm.

"Don't do it Eve," Viridian threatened tripping off the safety on his gun.

Rachael held her breath while she waited for her captor to make a decision.  After a lifetime of waiting she felt the grip on her arm loosen until she was free.

"Come over here Ray.  Get behind me," Viridian commanded.

Rachael took a hesitant step towards Viridian.  When no one else grabbed her she put Viridian between her and the kidnappers.

"Okay we're going to have you put on these nifty little handcuffs before we walk you out of here," Mags said tossing a handful of plastic ties towards the henchman.

As the henchman was putting the ties on Eve and Grey, Cerulean walked out of the room.  He paused to make sure the culprits weren't trying to get away with anything before going to Rachael.

In the distance Rachael could hear the faintest sound of sirens wailing.

"Hear that," Viridian said, "your rides almost here.  Let's get you lot moving to meet them."

Cerulean clapped his brother on the shoulder as he and Mags walked the group out of the motel.

"I am so glad you're not hurt," Cerulean said pulling Rachael into his embrace.

"I knew you would find me somehow," Rachael said.

Rachael savored the feeling of safety she had in his arms before more urgent business made itself known.

"Lean I love you but I need you to get me to the hospital," Rachael said pulling back from his arms.

"Why?  Are you hurt?" Cerulean asked running his hands down her arms looking for an injury.

"No, no, I'm not hurt," Rachael hissed as another contraction ran through her middle, "the baby's just coming."

     "The baby's coming!" Cerulean yelped.

     "The baby's coming," Rachael confirmed.

Rachael laughed through the pain as Cerulean swept her into his arms and yelling after Mags and Viridian carried her to one of their vehicles and put her inside.

"Hang on Ray.  I'll get you there soon," Cerulean said pealing out of the parking lot as the police cars finally showed up.

"Won't the cops want to talk to us," Rachael asked.

"They can meet us at the hospital," Cerulean answered as he drove.  He glanced over and grasped her hand where it clenched on her thighs, "you ready for this?"

Rachael smiled, "let's go meet our baby."

Random Ramblings

Baby time.  Stay tuned for more from the O'Malley's.

BTW players will know that actual guns aren't used in the games.  If you look at the screenshots I did some very careful framing to hide the fact that no one is actually holding a gun. Or grabbing anyone else.  You'll just have to imagine those parts :(
